The 5th summer school: “Think like a leader - act like a manager“

The University of Applied Sciences Baltazar Zaprešić invites students to participate in its 5th International Summer School 2026 on the topic „Think like a Leader – Act like a Manager“, organized within the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). This dynamic and interdisciplinary program is designed to equip students with essential leadership and business skills needed to navigate today’s complex and rapidly changing global environment.

Programme Focus

The summer school explores key themes including:

  • Leadership and self-awareness
  • Business and strategic thinking skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration in international settings
  • Ethical and responsible decision-making
  • ESG principles and sustainable development

Through a hands-on and experience-based approach, participants will develop the competencies required to become responsible, resilient, and forward-thinking leaders

Programme Structure

The programme combines virtual and physical mobility, offering a blended learning experience:

  • Virtual Mobility: 4 June 2026 and 30 June 2026
    Participants will engage in online lectures, interactive sessions, and international group collaboration with students and lecturers from across Europe. This phase introduces key concepts and prepares students for the on-site experience.
  • Physical Mobility: 15 June – 19 June 2026
    The in-person component takes place in Osijek, Croatia, with activities organized by the University of Applied Sciences Baltazar Zaprešić. During this intensive week, students will work in international teams, participate in simulations and workshops, conduct field research, and engage with entrepreneurs and local changemakers. The programme also includes cultural activities, providing insight into Croatian heritage and lifestyle.
Learning Approach

The summer school applies innovative and interactive teaching methods, including:

  • Synchronous and asynchronous learning
  • Project-based and experiential learning
  • Simulations and real-world challenges
  • Flipped classroom methodology
  • Group work, reflection, and peer learning

Participants will develop a practical understanding of leadership by working on real-life challenges and creating a self-management and leadership development plan.
